The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT), alongside Lt. Gov. Joe Kelly and Commissioner for the Nebraska Department of Labor Katie Thurber, celebrated the 2026 recipients of the Good Life, Great Journey Scholarship Program during a signing ceremony on August 3.
The event also recognized the program's first graduating class, marking a milestone in the scholarship program's third year.
The Good Life, Great Journey Scholarship Program helps Nebraska students pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and the skilled trades while building the state's transportation workforce. Scholarship recipients may receive up to 100% paid tuition, fees, books, tools, housing assistance, travel reimbursement and a paid internship with NDOT.
This year’s scholarship recipients are Landon Baker of Cozad, Julio Chavez of Lincoln, Sarah Payne of Utica, Zane Sievers of Wayne, and Dax Shipley of Harvard.
