Blue Cat Gallery & Studio in Wayne will celebrate its fifth year of operation with the juried exhibit, “Signs of Rural Life,” opening July 6 and continuing until Aug. 27.
The exhibit will feature artwork exploring rural themes created by artists from Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Wisconsin. The mediums represented vary, including photography, alcohol ink, oil, watercolor, acrylic on quilted fabric, mixed media, and more.
The juror, Glenda Drennen, a water-media artist based in Sioux City, Iowa, selected the works that will be featured in the exhibit.
Featured local artists include: Abby Olson, Wayne; Francine Fox, Wayne; Abby Schademann, Wayne; Mytzy Rodriguez-Kufner, Wayne; and Jan Johnson, Wakefield
An opening reception will be held Friday, July 8 from 5-7 p.m. during Henoween of the Wayne Chicken Show. At 5:30 p.m., awards of Best of Show, Second Place and Third Place will be announced at the reception by Drennen, who will also give a brief juror’s talk.
