Members of the Wayne High Speech Team took part in the Wisner-Pilger Invitational on Feb. 21.
Wayne brought home three event championships: Gavin Anderson in Humorous; the Duet of Aidan Bohnert and Colby Raulston; and the Oral Interpretation of Drama group of Aidan Bohnert, Gavin Anderson, Johen Piper, Gabriel Armstrong, and Colby Raulston.
Competing with a depleted roster owing to other school activities, in the team sweepstakes Wayne finished a close third behind runner-up West Point-Beemer and champion Omaha Brownell-Talbot.
Next up for the Blue Devil Speakers is the Mid-State Conference meet at Battle Creek on Saturday, Feb. 28 before they play host to the eighth annual Wayne High/Wayne State Classic on Saturday, March 7.
