Spenner wins NSIC Decathlon title

Josh Spenner won the Northern Sun Conference Decathlon ttile on Monday, scoring 6,496 points and winning three events on his way to the conference crown.
Spenner won three events in the 10-event decathlon, taking first in the shot put (39-10 1/2), pole vault (15-3) and discus (124-5). He won by 375 points over James Ryan of Minnesota Duluth.
Robert Sullivan placed sixth in the event with 5,993 points. Sullivan took second in the 110-meter hurdles (15.35), tied for third in the high jump (6-4 1/4) and was fourth in the shot put (37-5).
The finishes gives Wayne State's men 11 points heading into the NSIC Track and Field Championships that will be held next weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D.
