Back at Burke Stadium, Class C and D state qualifiers closed out their spring sports competition over the Memorial Day weekend.
A handful of qualifiers from Wakefield and Tri County Northeast concluded their 2025 spring season amongst the best of the best May 23 - 24.
Wakefield's sophomore Boston Brown competed in the first of three events in Class C.
Boston Brown's top finish came in the triple jump taking 11th (34' 8 1/2"). She also finished 13th overall in the 100-meter high hurdles (16.08) and 20th in the 300-meter low hurdles (49.02).
Last year, she took 12th (34' 3") in the triple jump.
In the boys division for the Trojans, two individual events and a relay were showcased.
Senior Jesse Lundahl earned a 12th place finish in the Class C boys discus (146' 9") while junior Mason Lamprecht took 14th in the long jump (19' 10 1/2").
During the final race of the weekend for the Class C boys 4x400-meter relay, Wakefield crossed the line 15th overall (3:35.95). The relay team was made up of Lundahl, junior Jacob Borg, Lamprecht and junior Cael Johnson.
Cael Johnson is a three-time state qualifier (last year finished 21st in the 110-meter high hurdles - 16.61 and earned a bronze medal in the 300-meter low hurdles - 40.34 as well as two years ago taking 10th in the 110s - 15.66 and seventh during the 300 hurdles - 40.47); Jesse Lundahl is a two-time state qualifier (last year finished 19th in the discus - 140' 11") and Mason Lamprecth is a two-time state qualifier (last year finished 20th in long jump - 19' 1"). Cael Johnson was also on the 2023 4x400-meter relay team which ran 3:35.48.
For Tri County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard), the Wolfpack qualified in two individual girl events and a relay along with four events for the boys.
Junior Kiya Tornez posted a 13th place finish in the Class C girls 100-meter dash (12.72) and took 17th in the 200-meter dah (26.73).
The Tri County Northeast girls 4x100-meter relay team finished 15th (51.14). Relay members were (junior Rachael Bousquet, senior Bre Millard, sophomore Joslyn Mackling and Tornez).
After missing out on state individually last year, Tornez qualified in three events in 2023. She finished 12th in the 100-meter dash (12.82); 13th during the 200-meter dash (26.83) and 18th in the long jump (15' 5 1/2").
Millard was a three-time individual state qualifier (finished 12th during the 300-meter low hurdles in 2023 - 48.43 and qualified in 2022 with a 13th place finish in the 300-meter hurdles - 49.1 as well as listed on the 4x400-meter relay that placed 12th - 4:20.77).
Tri County Northeast also qualified their 4x100-meter relay team last year but no names were listed on the NSAA website.
Senior Bryan Isom earned a sixth place medal during the Class C boys 300-meter intermediate finals (40.32) scoring three team points for the Wolfpack in 2025.
Other state events for Isom included a 13th place time in the 110-meter high hurdles (15.63) and 13th during the triple jump (41' 4").
Fellow senior Jackson Belt took 16th in the Class C boys high jump (6').
