Here are Tuesday’s subdistrict results:
Wayne 77, Norfolk Catholic 67 – Wayne hit 18-of-21 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to hang on and outlast the Knights to advance to Thursday’s 6:30 p.m. C1-7 subdistrict final. The Blue Devils got out to a 13-point first-quarter lead before the Knights whittled the lead to as close as four in the fourth quarter. Grayson McBride had a game-high 27 points to lead four Blue Devils in double figures, with Jack Evetovich adding 13 and Mason Lee and Ryan Jaixen each adding 10.
LCC 83, Hartington-Newcastle 66 – Five Bears scored in balanced figures as LCC advanced in the C2-5 subdistrict at Wausa. The Bears built a 20-point lead going to the fourth quarter and cruised to Thursday’s 7 p.m. final. Izac Reifenrath had 22 points and Jayden Reifenrath added 21 for the Bears. Mason Forsberg scored 12 and DJ Spahr and Trey Erwin each had 11.
Ponca 61, Wakefield 38 – Wakefield’s season came to an end in the C2-4 subdistrict Tuesday at West Point. The Trojans trailed by four at the break, but Ponca took control in the third quarter and pulled away with the win. Isaac Camarena scored 10 points and Parker Lehmkuhl, Jose Sanchez and Solomon Peitz each had seven.
Santee 71, Winside 45 – The Winside boys ended the season with a 9-12 record after a loss to Santee in the D2-3 subdistrict at Hartington. Winside hung with Santee early, but the Warriors pulled away in the second half to advance. Brandon Watters led Winside with 15 points, JaShaun Vyborny added nine and Colton Jensen put in eight.
