As #10 Wayne State College volleyball gears up for two final regular season games on the road, a 10th home match was played on Saturday.
From Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College, #10 WSC entertained #21 Northern State.
The Wildcats held a 2-1 lead in the match until Northern State won the final two sets to secure a five-set victory over WSC. NSU improved to 19-5 (11-5 NSIC) as Wayne State College fell to 20-6 (12-4 NSIC).
Scores of the match favored Northern State winning 25-18, 18-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-11.
Channatee Robles recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 16 kills and 16 digs along with three blocks.
Maggie Brahmer led WSC in kills with 17 and had nine blocks; Molly Romano posted 49 assists, nine digs, six blocks and one kill as Brooke Peltz led WSC in digs with 26.
Taya Beller added 10 kills, eight blocks (two solo) and one dig; Brooklyn Kusler tallied nine kills, three digs and two blocks and Chloe Hanel tacked on three kills, six digs and three blocks. Other digs came from Allie Petry (seven) and Anna Borner (six). Taylor Bunjer had one block.
Robles finished with two service aces as Romano, Peltz, Borner and Rhianna Wilhelm all had an ace.
Northern State outhit Wayne State College, .214 to .184. WSC held an advantage in blocks (17-9).
With the NSIC Tournament to begin Nov. 19, #10 Wayne State College will close out their regular season this weekend with a long road trip. WSC will visit University of Mary on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. followed by a road match at Minot State on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m.
