   Thaine Woodward, 94, of  rural Concord, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at his farm home.

  Graveside services with military rites will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 1:30 p.m. at East View Cemetery at Allen. PMA Deb Hammer will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Allen United Methodist Church in Allen.

Memorials may be made to the Woodward family for later designation.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne. 

Thaine Isom Woodward was born March 25, 1926 in the family home at Martinsburg to Henry and Irma (Isom) Woodward. He attended school at Martinsburg. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from Feb. 22, 1945 - Aug. 17, 1946.  Thaine married Doris Baird on Jan. 11, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winside. The couple farmed near Concord where they raised their children and crops.

Thaine operated Woodward Trucking in Concord and did trucking for family and neighbors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping.  He traveled to Wyoming and Colorado with his hunting buddies. Thaine was a member of the Allen American Legion for 47 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Gayle) Fredrickson of Sioux City, Iowa and Nancy Kelly of Concord; one son, Harlan Woodward of Concord; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Alice Woodward of Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; brothers, Jimmy (Shirley) Woodward and Neyron Woodward; and one great-great-granddaughter.

 Honorary pallbearers will be William J. (Sharon) Kelly and Stacy Combs.

Pallbearers will be Gaylin Woodward, Keith Woodward, Kevin Woodward, Jeff Mulhair, Deanna Reintze and Linda Woodward.
