Three All-Conference, three honorable mention for LCC basketball among GNAC

In the inaugural season of the Greater Northeast Activities Conference, six members of the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge basketball teams earned postseason awards.

According to a release, 10 All-Conference along with several honorable mention recipients were recognized.

Sophomores Rena Rasmussen and Kaida Eriksen were listed GNAC All-Conference while senior Lainey Schutte and sophomore Carlie Kvols were both tabbed honorable mention.

Rasmussen averaged a double-double with 19.4 ppg and 10 rebounds per game (105 total offensive) along with leading the team in made free throws (107), steals (44/1.8 spg) and three-point percentage (46%) knocking down 24 from behind the arc.

Eriksen posted a team-high 67 made three’s. She was also second in assists (68/2.8 apg) and made free throws (39), tied for second in blocks (7) and was third in steals (41/1.7 spg).

Schutte led LCC in assists (73/3.0 apg), blocks (nine) and free throw percentage (89%/8-9 FT). She was also second in rebounding (7.1 per game), offensive rebounding (53) and second in steals (43/1.8 spg).

Kvols was second on the team in made three’s (40) and recorded 59 assists (2.5 spg) and 26 steals.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls finished 12-12 this past season.

Senior Gibson Roberts led the LCC boys with All-Conference recognition while sophomore Cade Johnson earned honorable mention honors.

Roberts led the Bears in scoring (19.2 ppg), made free throws (62) knocking down 71% from the line, assists (83), steals (53), blocks (20) and field goal percentage (39%). He was also second in made three’s (41) knocking down 27% from long range and was second in rebounding (5.2 rpg).

Johnson collected a team high 6.6 rebounds per game (45 total offensive). He was also second on the team in scoring (8.2 ppg), free throws (24) and made 15 three’s.

The LCC boys closed their season at 9-16.
