Following a five-day moratorium break and in-between nearly two weeks of competition, the Winside boys wrestling team was in action during a late December invite.
From Newman Grove, the Winside boys joined 15 other teams during the Newman Grove/St. Edward Holiday Invite on Dec. 28.
The Winside boys sent six wrestlers to finish eighth with 48.5 points.
Cedar Catholic won the Newman Grove/St. Edward Holiday Invite with 207 points, Battle Creek followed in runner-up (202.5), Wilber-Clatonia took third (157), Boone Central placed fourth (131) as Norfolk JV 1 rounded out the top five teams with 123.5 points.
The Winside boys were led by a runner-up finish from Korbin Carlson (150), Stratton Sellin (144) placed fourth and Mason Edwards (138) took fifth.
Other scoring came from Asher Uttecht (157) and Braxton Rastede (285).
William Pace (175) was also in action.
The Winside boys wrestlers return to the mat on Friday, Jan. 10 during their home invite while a Winside Girls Invite is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11. The Winside boys will also attend the Summerland Invite on Saturday, Jan. 11 with the Winside girls at Summerland on Monday, Jan. 13.
