Friday afternoon NSIC road soccer took over the schedule for Wayne State College.
From the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, North Dakota, WSC played at University of Mary.
Thanks to a trio of second half goals, all scored in the final 12 minutes, the Wildcats secured a 3-0 victory. Wayne State College improved to 6-5-5 (5-3-4 NSIC) while the Marauders fell to 8-4-3 (6-3-3 NSIC).
Paige Pemberton opened scoring in the 79th minute (78:13) followed by Alaina Sorensen’s first goal just about two minutes later (80:00) off an assist by Maia Vacks. Sorensen scored once more in the 88th minute (87:13) off an assist from Reagan Allen.
Final favored Wayne State College winning 3-0.
Sorensen recorded four shots, two on goal with two in the back of the net as Pemberton added three shots with one in goal.
Vacks added two shots, one on goal and an assist; Erin Peters tallied two shots; Megan Rhodes tacked on one shot on goal as Neleah Dunlap had one shot attempt. Allen finished with an assist.
Sidney Truman was in goal all 90 minutes. She recorded nine saves marking her fifth shutout of the season.
University of Mary outshot WSC, 22-13 which included 9-5 on goal. The Marauders added 11 corner kicks compared to four by the Wildcats.
