Thursday area volleyball scores

Four Wayne Herald area high school volleyball teams were in action Thursday night with a trio playing a pair of matches.

In Wayne, the Blue Devils hosted Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and swept the Raiders (25-14, 25-17, 25-14) to improve to 6-2.

Wayne High is back in action on Saturday during the North Bend Invite.

The Wakefield Invite showcased the host Trojans and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge among eight teams in action for day one Thursday night.

LCC swept Lyons Decatur Northeast (25-11, 25-17) and won in three sets over Ponca (25-13. 24-26, 25-16) to improve to 6-0 while Wakefield dropped a three set match against Lyons Decatur Northeast (23-25, 25-17, 18-25) and suffered a 2-0 loss to Ponca (11-25, 6-25) falling to 1-9.

LCC and Wakefield will open Saturday morning's schedule at 8:30 a.m. during day two of the Wakefield Invite followed by Ponca vs. Lyons Decatur Northeast in the main gym.

Tekamah-Herman and Cedar Catholic will start at 8:30 a.m. followed by Elkhorn Valley vs. Pierce in the auxiliary gym followed by championship and consolation bracket play.

From Osmond, Tri County Northeast took part in triangular competition along with Randolph.

The Allen/Emerson-Hubbard co-op swept the host Tigers (25-16, 25-19) and won in three sets over Randolph (22-25, 25-14, 28-26) to improve to 6-1.

The Wolfpack will next host Omaha Nation on Monday, September 15 starting at 6 p.m.
