Thursday Wayne Herald scores

Both Wayne High and Junior High track & field teams were in action along with Wayne High baseball, Tri County Northeast track and field as well as all four Wayne Herald area boys golf teams. WSC softball also had their home doubleheader moved up one day due to weather.

From the Pete Chapman Softball Complex, the Wayne State College softball team picked up wins of  4-3 (eight innings) and 7-4 over Sioux Falls (previously scheduled for Friday).

The 'Cats (33-11, 13-7 NSIC) will next visit Southwest Minnesota State on April 19 at noon/2 p.m

 

From Tekemah, the Wayne High baseball team made quick work of Tekamah-Herman securing a 12-0 win in five innings.

The Blue Devils (9-7) will next travel to Omaha to face Roncalli Catholic at 11 a.m. (pushed back one hour due temperatures) on April 18 and also compete against Central City/Centura around 3 p.m. during a road triangular.

 

From Cedar View Country Club in Laurel, the LCC Invite showcased Wayne, Wakefield, Tri County Northeast and the host Laurel-Concord-Coleridge along with several other teams.

The Wayne boys golf team will next travel to the Boone Central Invite in Albion on April 18 at 11 a.m., LCC returns to the course on April 20 in Ponca for a triangular with Hartington-Newcastle at 1 p.m. while both Wakefield and Tri County Northeast will next travel to Fair Play Golf Course in Norfolk for the Lutheran High Northeast Invite at 9 a.m.

 

From Elkhorn, the Wayne High track & field program competed in the Krueger May Invite.

Wayne was scheduled to compete in Wisner on April 18, but the invite was moved up a day to Friday (April 17 at noon) due to weekend weather in which Wayne will no longer be attending. The Blue Devils are off until the Schuyler Invite on April 23 at 10 a.m.

 

From West Point, the Wayne Junior High track & field teams were in action.

Wayne JH track will next travel to Laurel on April 22 at 9 a.m.

 

Tri County Northeast track & field also traveled to the Homer Invite and will next compete in the LCC Invite on April 21 starting at noon.
