TITANISH to be presented at The Little Red Hen Theatre

The Little Red Hen Theatre is about to set sail with their upcoming production of TITANISH, a parody of the classic 1997 film Titanic.

Featuring star-crossed lovers, a doomed ship, icebergs, a large diamond, and a really big door – TITANISH lampoons everything you love (or hate) about James Cameron’s pop culture phenomenon.  TITANISH crashes on the Little Red Hen Theatre stage for three performances just before the Thanksgiving holiday on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.

Lovers from different classes, Rose and Jack are aboard the maiden voyage of the unsinkable Titanic. Rose is onboard with her fiancé, Caledon Hockley, in first class, while down below Jack and his buddy Fabrizio have won tickets in a game of chance so they can make lives for themselves in America.

And of course, Rose and Jack fall in love against all odds right before disaster strikes. But all of this is merely a flashback told by old Rose to fortune hunters Brock Lovett and Lewis Bodine as they search for the famous diamond, “The Heart of the Ocean.”

TITANISH takes all of this and goes “full steam ahead” with ridiculous contrivances, crazy characters, inventive staging to portray the film, and a stunning musical number for good measure. Often crass and sometimes inappropriate, but always clever, TITANISH will keep you laughing from start to finish!

TITANISH features Katleyn Pommer as Rose, RJ Liska as Jack, Severt Phileo as Cal, Barb Farup as Fabrizio, Shery Dorman as “Old Rose”, Brooklyn Bierbower as Lovejoy, Mike Pommer as Brock Lovett, Avery Partida as Lewis Bodine, Sharon Boeckenhauer as The Captain, Kami Murphy as 1st Mate William Murdoch, Meg Schuler and Sophia Sebade as Titanic Crew members Frederick and Reginald, Buffany DeBoer as the unsinkable “Molly Brown”, Brian Johnson as JJ Astor, Holly Kathol and Charity Potter as 1st Class passengers Betsy and Babs, and Aleigha Hale, Kinslee Metzler, Megan Clark, and Sawyer Miller as a multitude of other characters from the film.

The production is directed by T. Adam Goos with assistance from Lexi Kapanka.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.littleredhentheatre.com, or by calling the box office at (402) 287-2818. This show is recommended for ages 14 and older due to content that, while funny, might not be appropriate for younger audiences.

TITANISH was made possible with support from the Dixon County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Wayne County Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Nebraska Arts Council, and by the 2024 Patrons of The Little Red Hen Theatre.
