As the Wayne Pony youth baseball teams are set to open postseason competition, Wayne Didget and Bronco teams found out their Tri County League Tournament schedule earlier on Tuesday.
According to a release from the tricoleague.com website, the Didget and Bronco Upper and Lower Division brackets were posted. Some game times were still being finalized.
The Wayne Blue Broncos will compete in the Upper (top 14) Gold Division following an 11-0 Tri County League record to earn the #2 seed.
Wayne Blue has earned a first round bye into Saturday, June 29 and will await the winner of #7 Wisner (8-3) or #10 Battle Creek #1 (5-5) who open the Bronco first round on Thursday, June 27.
Wayne Blue won 15-0 on June 24 against Battle Creek #1 while it would be the first meeting with Wisner.
The Wayne Blue Didgets have earned the #2 seed in the Lower (bottom 14) Blue Division after going 5-6 in Tri County League play finishing 18th overall.
Wayne Blue will open with a second round Didget outing on Friday, June 28 against the winner of either #7 Logan View Blue (3-8) or #10 Tekamah-Herman Purple (1-10) who play on Wednesday. The Wayne game would be at the Summer Sports Complex with game time to be set after Wednesday night.
Wayne Blue won 4-3 over Tekamah-Herman Purple in Tekamah on June 12 while it would be the first meeting with Logan View Blue.
The Wayne White Broncos will compete in the Lower (bottom 11) Blue Division following a 4-7 Tri County League record to finish 18th overall and will be the #4 seed.
Wayne White will open with a second round Bronco outing on Saturday, June 29 against #5 Howells-Dodge (3-7). The game will be played at the Summer Sports Complex Saturday morning with game time still being finalized.
This will be the first meeting this season between the two teams.
The Wayne White Didgets have earned the #6 seed in the Lower (bottom 14) Blue Division after going 4-7 in Tri County League play finishing 22nd overall.
Wayne White will open first round Didget competition on Wednesday, June 26 hosting #11 Homer (1-10) at 6:30 p.m.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season.
Also, both Wayne Pony Tournament teams will be in action during their first round for the Tri County League bracket. The top 16 of 19 teams qualified.
#3 Wayne Blue (10-4 overall/10-1) will face #14 North Bend Orange (3-8) while #4 Wayne White (11-2 overall/10-1 Tri County League) will compete against #13 Stanton Black (3-8). Both games will be played at the Summer Sports Complex with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
Last Thursday (June 20), Wayne Blue won 11-10 at North Bend Orange while it will be the first meeting this season between Wayne White and Stanton Black Ponies.
