Tri County Northeast week three fall sports recap: XC, volleyball, football

Wolfpack cross country made their way to Laurel for mid-morning action on the course and then to Wayne in the afternoon the following week.

From Cedarview Country Club on Sept. 10, the Tri County Northeast girls ran with three (no team scoring) while the Allen/Emerson-Hubbard co-op boys took seventh with 73 points.

At the Wayne Country Club on Sept. 14, the TCNE boys placed fourth with 64 points with no girls team scoring.

In the girls division at Laurel, Karlee Duncan led TCNE in 23rd (26:03.48).

Two Wolfpack girls ran the Wayne course being Karlee Duncan (16th - 26:45.1, just missed a medal) and Hailey Millard (24th - 29:14.1).

In boys competition from Laurel, Jude Ridenour posted an eighth place finish in 18:31.62.

Jude Ridenour collected a second medal in five days with a sixth place finish in Wayne (18:41).

 

A third consecutive road triangular was on the schedule for Tri County Northeast volleyball.

From Randolph on Sept. 10, TCNE swept both Osmond (25-19, 25-17) and the host Cardinals (25-23, 25-8).

The Wolfpack also secured a 3-0 victory at Omaha Nation (25-13, 25-17, 25-13) on Sept. 14 to now sit 5-3.

Match leaders from the road triangular came from Joslyn Mackling with 19 kills being led by a double-double against Osmond thanks to 12 kills and 12 digs. She totaled 20 digs on the night.

 

Week three action was on the docket for Tri County Northeast football.

From Allen on Sept. 11, the host Wolpack suffered a 42-30 loss against Niobrara-Verdigre.

Both teams are now 1-2 on the season.

Blake Kneifl led the Allen/Emerson-Hubbard co-op in scoring thanks to 32 carries for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

Ben Bousquet added 15 attempts for 67 yards and one score.

The remaining touchdown was posted by Logan Kraemer thanks to a 70-yard kick return for six points.

Ben Bousquet posted a team-high 11 tackles (four solo).
