A second course showcased Tri County Northeast girls and boys cross country as athletes battled the heat in early September.
From Wisner River Park, the Sept. 3 Wisner-Pilger Invite was moved up in time and relocated from Beemer due to excessive heat.
The Allen/Emerson-Hubbard girls had no team scoring with only three runners while the TCNE boys took 11th with 168 points.
In the girls division, the Wolfpack were led by Karlee Duncan (49th - 25:39.4).
During the boys competition, Jude Ridenour collected a 10th place medal (18:02.7).
A pair of road triangular outings are now complete for Tri County Northeast volleyball.
First from Lindsay on Sept. 3, the Wolfpack won 2-0 over Homer (25-19, 25-19) but lost to the host Humphrey-Lindsay in straight sets (23-25, 21-25).
Then on Sept. 8 in Pender, TCNE suffered a pair of 2-0 losses against the host Pendragons (15-25, 22-25) and Howells-Dodge (14-25, 11-25).
Tri County Northeast is now 2-3 on the season.
Class D2 competition continued into the second week for Tri County Northeast football.
From Creighton on Sept. 4, the visiting Wolfpack suffered a 44-6 loss.
Both teams are now 1-1 on the season.
A first quarter score was posted by Blake Kneifl (6-for-14 for 49 yards) on a passing touchdown to Knox Lamp (three catches for 32 yards).
