Trio of Blue Devil boys wrestlers medal led by Grant Maas with silver

Saturday was meant for the boys with wrestling competition resuming for high school wrestling.

Back at Schuyler, Wayne High competed in the Schuyler Boys Invite showcasing 16 teams.

The Wayne High boys finished with 13th with 55 points among their 10 wrestlers.

Bennington won the Schuyler Boys Invite with 238.5 points, Omaha Skutt Catholic followed in runner-up (223.5),  Blair took third (128.5), Columbus Lakeview placed fourth (118) and Scottsbluff rounded out the top five teams with 111.5 points.

Wayne High leaders were Grant Maas (150) earned a runner-up finish while Taven Ocampo (157) followed in fifth and Emmanuel Gonzalez (106) took sixth.

Other scoring came from Ethan Gregory (120), Will Leseberg (126), Ty Zach (144) and Maddox Ziska (285) while Noah Magnuson (132), Thomas Raymundo (138) and Keaton Gregory (215) were also in action.

The Wayne High boys wrestling team will next compete at the Mid State Conference Tournament with the girls and boys both competing at Boone Central in Albion on Saturday, Jan. 25.
