A series of back-to-back outings began with a mid-week invite for the Wakefield boys golf team.
From Club 91 in Leigh, the Trojans joined 15 other teams with golfers in action on Wednesday during the Patriot Invite hosted by Clarkson-Leigh.
With just three golfers in action, Wakefield did not have a team score. Individually, Jacob Birkley led the way with a 92 (44/48) to finish 32nd, Drew Kubik followed with a 112 (53/59) and Lane Fischer closed with a 115 (56/59).
David City used a 10 shot advantage to win the 2025 Patriot Invite with a 328 ahead of both Archangles Catholic and Aquinas Catholic each shooting a 338. North Bend Central followed in fourth (364) as Fort Calhoun held off Plainview for a top five finish (368-369).
Dayne Jakub from Aquinas Catholic edged Andrew Kosch from Archangles Catholic, 75-76 to win the individual title among the 74 golfers.
