Twila M. (Heier) Wiltse, 90, of Wayne, died Thursday, March 14, 2024 at her home at Kinship Pointe in Wayne.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22 at Wayne Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne.Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. 

Memorial contributions are recommended to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne or Providence Medical Hospice.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Twila Marie Wiltse was born July 25, 1933 at Wayne, the daughter of Fred and Helena (Bartling) Heier. She was a lifelong resident of Wayne, graduating from Wayne High School in 1951. Twila married W. Rowan Wiltse April 17, 1953 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne, and they shared 63 years together before he preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2017. Twila graduated from Wayne State College and spent many years teaching at the Wayne Middle School, mostly fifth grade. Upon retirement she and Rowan enjoyed many winters as “Winter Texans.” She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a long-time volunteer for Providence Hospice. She was also a member of PEO Chapter AZ for over 50 years.

Survivors include a son, Mark Wiltse of Wayne; daughter, Carol (R. Joseph) Potts of Racine, Wisconsin; four grandchildren: Michelle (Tim) Gesell, Michael (Jess Doerr), Melissa (Jason) Kobs and Katlyn (Mike) LaScola; special daughter-in-law, Lou Wiltse of Wayne; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Harlan Heier of Lincoln, Byron (Barbara) Heier of Wayne; sisters-in-law, Betty Heier of Wayne and Renee (Don) Cunningham of Phoenix, Arizona and close friends, Ron and Pat Carnes of Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Willard and Florence (Beckenhauer) Wiltse; brother, Darrel Heier, and sister-in-law, Shirley Heier.
