Wayne State College head women’s golf coach Joey Baldwin has announced the addition of two transfers to the Wildcat women’s golf program for the 2021-22 season.  Viktoria Bortkiewicz-Hamelin from Montreal, Quebec Canada and Napatsorn “Mekky” Winyarat of Bangkok, Thailand join Abbigail Brodersen from Albion as members of the 2021-22 Wildcat recruiting class.

“I am very excited to welcome Viktoria and Mekky to our golf program,” remarked Coach Baldwin.  “Both players are very dedicated and extremely hard workers on the golf course and in the classroom.  They are international players who have both played college golf and will bring experience to our team.  I believe they will have an immediate impact on our team and I know they will be great things at WSC.”

Bortkiewicz-Hamelin (bork – uh – witch / ham – lin) is a transfer from Dawson College in Montreal and will have three years of eligibility with the Wildcats.  She was named golf team MVP and had an 83 scoring average in her one season at Dawson.

Winyarat (win – yuh – ROT) is a transfer from Dodge City Community College in Kansas and will have two years of eligibility with the Wildcats.  She was named Female Athlete of the Year in 2020 after notching one individual tournament title, one team title and a hole-in-one in the COVID shortened season.  Winyarat had an average score of 79 at Dodge City that ranked 26th nationally while helping the Conquistadors to a #19 national ranking in the 2020 season.

The Wildcats are scheduled to open the 2021 fall season September 7-8 at the Central Region Preview in Blue Springs, Missouri.
