Wayne (G/B), Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (G/B), Wakefield (G/B) and Tri County Northeast girls basketball along with Wakefield (G/B) and Winside (G/B) wrestling closed out Jan. 27 competition.
From Wayne, the Wayne girls basketball team lost 36-35 while the Blue Devil boys dropped a 60-51 decision against North Bend.
The Wayne girls (11-9) and boys (10-9) will next open the Mid State Conference Tournament (bracket attached).
From Winside, the Winside girls wrestling team won 24-6 and the Winside boys picked up a 54-12 victory against Bancroft-Rosalie.

The Winside girls wrestling team will next travel to the Ainsworth Invite on Jan. 30 starting at noon followed by the Winside boys at Ainsworth on Jan. 31 at 9 a.m.
From Norfolk, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls basketball team won 62-22 while the LCC boys lost 69-36 at Lutheran High Northeast.
The LCC girls (12-7) and boys (6-11) will next entertain Wakefield on Jan. 29 starting at 4:30 p.m. GNAC brackets are attached.
From Emerson, the Tri County Northeast girls basketball team lost 60-17 against Pender. *The TCNE vs. Pender boys game was moved to Feb. 13.
The Wolfpack girls (3-14) and boys (2-15) will next open the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament (bracket attached).
From Wakefield, the Wakefield girls basketball team won 37-30 while the Wakefield boys secured a 62-39 victory against Tekamah-Herman.
The Wakefield girls (3-14) and boys (10-6) will next visit Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Jan. 29 at 5:45/7:15 p.m. East Husker Conference brackets are attached.
From Winnebago, the Wakefield girls wrestling team finished 2-0 while the Wakefield boys went 0-2 during the Winnebago triangular.
The Wakefield girls wrestlers will next compete in the EHC Championships on Jan. 29 hosted by Lyons-Decatur Northeast starting at 1 p.m. while the Wakefield boys will take part in the EHC Championships on Jan. 31 hosted by North Bend starting at 9 a.m.
