Winside and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls wrestling traveled to the same location, Wakefield girls basketball, Wayne State College basketball as well as WSC indoor track & field were in action on Jan. 30.
From Ainsworth, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls wrestlers finished 12th (15 pts) while the Winside girls took 15th (two pts) among the 18 teams.
LCC's top medalist was Grace Galvin (140) placing third and scoring 12 of the 15 team points.
Winside scoring was posted by Maci Schmidt (130) with two points.
The Winside girls are next in action on Jan. 31 at the Norfolk Catholic Invite starting at 9:30 a.m. (boys at Ainsworth on Jan. 31 at 9 a.m.).
The LCC girls wrestling team is off until Feb. 6 (2 p.m.) and Feb. 7 (9:30 a.m.) during the B-1 District Championships hosted in Plainview (boys at Plainview Invite on Jan. 31 at 9:30 a.m.).
From Howells, #14 Wakefield girls (basketball) suffered a 59-29 loss against #3 Howells-Dodge during the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament.
The Wakefield girls (3-16, dropped second straight) will next play on Feb. 2 during the first round consolation with an opponent TBD while #7 Wakefield boys (11-6) will open EHC Tournament on Jan. 31 hosting #10 Tekamah-Herman) at 7:30 p.m.
From Mankato, MN, the WSC women's and men's indoor track & field team began competition at the Mark Shuck Open/Multi's.

From Rice Auditorium, the Wayne State College women's basketball team dropped their fourth straight following an 83-56 loss while the WSC men secured their fourth straight victory thanks to a 77-70 win against Minnesota Duluth.
The Wildcat women (9-12, 4-11 NSIC) and men (13-8, 9-6 NSIC) will return to Rice Auditorium on Jan. 31 hosting Bemidji State at 3:30/5:30 p.m. with women's teams playing first.
