Lynal Gay Longe was born Sept. 22, 1936 on a farm southeast of Wayne to Arthur Frank and Leona Louise (Echtenkamp) Longe. She was baptized Sept. 27, 1936 and confirmed May 28, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church.  Lynal attended Trinity Lutheran Church Parochial School in Altona and later country school District #8 in Wayne County. She was a graduate of Wayne High School and Wayne State College, earning a degree in education.  Lynal married Darrell Dean Charles Franzen on June 29, 1958 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple lived on a farm and for 45 years, Lynal was a teacher in Wayne, Dixon and Madison counties.  Darrell passed away March 4, 1980. She later married Delbert Krueger on Jan. 1, 1989. The couple lived on a farm near Pierce.

She loved her family very much.  She loved to host holiday gatherings and attend the grandchildren’s sport and school activities. She kept close relationships with her circle of teachers and friends in the community.

She was a mother so full of kindness and goodness that it seems straight out of the Bible.  Her faith was apparent to everyone she met.

Survivors include her children, Holly (Dave) Thorson, Barry Franzen, Gary (Kathy) Krueger, Gerry (Sherri) Krueger and Mike (Miriam) Krueger; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lynal in death were her parents; husbands, Darrell Franzen in 1980 and Delbert Krueger in 2014; brothers, Dallas (Mary Alice) Longe and Dwaine Longe.
