Both Wayne and Wakefield American Legion baseball and a pair of Dirt Devil softball teams were in action on June 10.

From Plainview, Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 Seniors won their seventh straight thanks to a 4-2 victory while the Post 43 Juniors had a four-game winning streak snapped following a 6-3 loss at Post 148.

The Post 43 Seniors (10-1) and Juniors (7-3) will next host Arlington Post 71 on June 12 at 5:30/8 p.m. during Youth Night (Juniors play first).

Wayne Baseball Association players will receive free admission and be recognized (wearing a Wayne baseball jersey and hat) between the Junior and Senior Legion games. Players must arrive at Hank Overin Field prior to 7:15 p.m.

From Wakefield, the Wakefield Post 81 Juniors suffered a 5-3 home loss to Ponca in a Juniors only game.

The Post 81 Juniors (2-4) will next join their Seniors team (4-3) on June 12 hosting South Sioux City at 5:30/8 p.m.

From Ponca, the Dirt Devil 16/18s won a pair of road games thanks to scores of 7-3 and 8-6 at Ponca.

The Dirt Devils (13-7) will next open the Class B State Tourney in Hastings starting with a 2:45 p.m. outing on June 12 against Columbus Havoc 18U - Bos.

From Pender, the Dirt Devil 12s suffered road losses of 9-3 and 10-4 at Pender.

The Dirt Devils (0-23-1) will next host Stanton on June 11 at 6:30/8 p.m.

From Battle Creek, the Wayne Blue Broncos won 11-5 while the Blue Didgets picked up a 9-5 victory at Battle Creek Purple.

The Wayne Blue Broncos (8-0) are off until June 17 hosting Battle Creek Grey at 7:45 p.m. Didgets will play prior at 6 p.m.

The Wayne Blue Didgets (6-1) will first play on June 15 at Tri County in Emerson at 6 p.m.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the Wayne White Broncos lost 10-6 while the White Didgets posted a 9-8 win thanks to a four-run bottom of the fourth to take the lead late against Stanton.

The Wayne White Broncos (1-6) and Didgets (4-3) will next host North Bend Black on June 15 at 6/7:45 p.m. Didget action will play first.
