Summer postseason softball took over the Dirt Devil 16/18s schedule, 10s Red took to the road while both Wayne and Wakefield American Legion baseball teams were on their home diamond to begin the weekend.

From Hastings, Dirt Devil 16/18s went 1-1 during day one of the Class B state tourney starting with a 15-3 loss against Columbus Havoc 18U - Bos followed by an 11-6 win over Nebraska Outlaws 18U.

The Dirt Devils (14-8) will be back in action on June 13.


From Pender, Dirt Devil 10s Red suffered losses of 5-1 and 15-4 at Pender.

The Dirt Devils (6-14) will next visit Kelly's Fastpitch - Suckstorf on June 17 at 6 p.m.


From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 swept Arlington. The Wayne Srs won 5-3 while the Jrs secured a 13-5 victory.

Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 Juniors (8-3) will next visit Ponca on June 15 at 7 p.m. for a Juniors only outing.

The Post 43 Seniors (11-1) will next join the Juniors team on June 17 hosting Lakeview Bank of the Valley at 5:30/8 p.m. Juniors open the night.


From Eaton Field in Wakefield, Post 81 split games with South Sioux City. The Wakefield Seniors picked up a 9-5 win while the Post 81 Juniors dropped a 23-5 decision.

Wakefield Post 81 Seniors (5-3) and Juniors (2-5) will next host Hartington on June 15 at 5:30/8 p.m. Juniors action will open the night.
