June 19 marked a busy start to the 12U bracket during the Wayne Youth Baseball Tournament, all five Dirt Devil softball teams were in action and Wayne American Legion baseball competed Friday evening.
From the Summer Sports Complex, four 12U games were held beginning with the Wayne Bronco Tournament team picking up a 12-6 win over Logan View.
Other Friday night Bronco scores were Pierce over Crofton (13-3), Hartington (Leise) over Crofton (22-5) and O'Neill over Hartington (Koch) (15-0).
Day two schedule will showcase all three Wayne tourney teams along with a busy day at the Sumer Sports Complex.
From Yankton, SD during the 34th annual YGSA Father's Day Tournament, four Dirt Devil teams took over Friday pool play competition.
The Dirt Devil 16/18s began with a 10-8 win against TSC Riptide 18U.
The Dirt Devils (17-9) will next face SD Intensity at 8 a.m. and SD Boom 18U at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dirt Devil 14s started with 19-5 victory over SD Braves 13/14U.
The Dirt Devils (19-9-1) are back in action on Saturday facing TSC Tornadoes at 9:30 a.m. followed by Southeast Elite at 11 a.m.
The Dirt Devil 12s opened with a pair of losses to Yankton Fury Lancers (21-0) and TSC Lightning (8-2).
The Dirt Devils (3-26-1) will be in action once more in pool play on Saturday competing against Yankton Fury Outlaws at 9:30 a.m.
Dirt Devil 10s Black began pool play with back-to-back losses against Bandits Sioux Falls (10-5) and TSC Cyclones (15-0).
The Dirt Devils (11-15-1) will also face SD Players Red at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
From West Point during the Logan Valley League 10U tourney, Dirt Devil 10s Red secured a 6-0 win over Arlington Maroon.
The Dirt Devils (7-16) will next face Arlington Black on June 20 at 8 a.m.
From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, Rolling Hills Supply swept Pierce. The Wayne Post 43 Seniors won 17-0 while the Jrs picked up an 11-3 victory over Pierce.
Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 Srs (13-1) and Jrs (10-4) are off until June 24 visiting the West Point Bombers at 5:30/8 p.m. Juniors will open the night.
