After just over three hours of deliberation, the jury came back with a guilty verdict on all three of the charges against Carl F. Ruskamp - Count I - Murder in the First Degree, a Class 1 A Felony; Count II - Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony, a Class 1 C Felony and Count III - Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person, a Class 1 D Felony.
Ruskamp was accused of shooting his father, 65-year old Gerald Ruskcamp at his home in southern Wayne County on Sept. 7, 2022.
Judge Long set sentencing for Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. and ordered that the pre-sentencing investigation be completed by Sept. 30.
Judge Long also revoked Ruskamp's bond and ordered he be held without bond.
