Tri County Northeast week four fall sports recap: XC, volleyball, football

Following a two-race week, it was back to single action for Tri County Northeast cross country.

From Twin Creeks Golf Club in Pender on Sept. 17, the TCNE girls finished 12th with 107 points while the Wolfpack boys placed 11th (123).

In the girls division, Karlee Duncan paced Tri County Northeast in 37th (24:59.6).

During boys competition, Jude Ridenour led TCNE with a 10th place medal in 18:11.2.

 

A pair of home matches in Allen were showcased for Tri County Northeast volleyball.

First on Sept. 17, the host Wolfpack swept Creighton (25-20, 25-23, 25-17) followed by another home victory against Wausa (25-11, 25-14, 25-16) on Sept. 21.

TCNE is now 7-3 on the season.

In the win over Cerighton, Joslyn Mackling posted a double-double with 21 kills and 17 digs along with a second double-double from Ally Belt with 38 assists and 10 digs to go along with three kills.

Emily Mitchell led TCNE in digs with 20. Another dig leader was Carlee Stanley with nine.

 

Due to low numbers for Homer, the Tri County Northeast football team was awarded the win by forfeit during their week four contest.

Several injuries caused the host Knights to cancel  their first game of the season falling to 0-4. Homer was outscored 62-38 the week prior at Oakland-Craig.
