Upcoming youth baseball, softball tournaments

All five Wayne youth baseball teams will take part in Tri County League Tournament action, the Dirt Devil 16/18s will compete in the York Summer Slam as Wayne and Wakefield American Legion baseball teams will particiapte in the Ralph Bishop League Tournament. 

Tri County Northeast League brackets released

Tri County League youth baseball tournament action will begin this week and be played through July 2.

Higher seeds will host the opening two rounds before semifinal along with championship and consolation games will be at select sites.

Due to predicted storms and field conditions, first round games for the Gold (Upper) and Blue (Lower) Didget Divisions as well as Pony tourney have been moved from June 25 to June 27. The Bronco Gold (Upper) and Blue (Lower) Divisions are still scheduled to play their first round games on Thursday, June 26 pending weather.

Wayne White and Wayne Blue Bronco and Didget teams have qualified for the Gold Division while the Wayne Ponies finished in a three-way tie for first during the regular season.

In the Broncos Gold Division on Thursday, #8 Wayne White (8-3) will host #9 Wisner at 6:30 p.m. while #14 Wayne Blue (6-5) will travel to #3 Pender Red at 6:30 p.m.

During the Didgets Gold Division on Friday, #5 Wayne White (9-2) will host #12 West Point Aardvarks at 6 p.m. while #7 Wayne Blue (9-2) will host #10 Tilden at 6 p.m.

From the Pony Tri County League tournament now beginning on Friday, #3 Wayne (15-3-1 overall/10-1 league) will host #14 Battle Creek #2 at 6:30 p.m.

Semifinal games will be hosted by the same locations for the finals.

Championship games are all scheduled for Wednesday, July 2. Homer will host the Didget Gold (Upper) third place and finals; Wakefield will host the Bronco Gold (Upper) third place and finals while Emerson will host the Pony third place and final games. Both the Didget Blue and Bronco Blue finals will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.

Dirt Devil 16/18s York Summer Slam

With just a few remaining regular season games approaching and Class C state for Dirt Devil 16/18s and 14s July 4-6 in Hastings, the older Dirt Devils will be in action during a late June tournament.

From the York Summer Slam in York, Nebraska, the Dirt Devil 16/18s (14-10-1) will compete in Pool C. The Dirt Devils last played on June 15 during the YGSA Father's Day Tournament in Yankton, South Dakota after having a June 24 road doubleheader called off due to weather

All games will be on Saturday, June 28 as the Dirt Devils will open against Stingers - Fink 18u at 9 a.m., face Force Softball 2025 at noon and close pool play against Columbus Havoc 18u at 3 p.m. Bracket play for Gold and Silver Division games will be played on June 29 at the York Ballpark Complex.

Ralph Bishop Legion bracket update

Through Tuesday, Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 has earned the #1 seed in both the Senior and Junior North Divisions.

North #1 Wayne Post 43 Seniors will host #8 Plainview on Sunday, June 29 at 7 p.m. A win for Wayne would allow Post 43 to host the second round on Tuesday, July 1 against the Wakefield/Ponca winner at 5:30 or 8 p.m.

North #1 Wayne Post 43 Juniors have earned a first round win by forfeit over #8 Pierce on Saturday, June 28 due to low numbers by Pierce. Wayne will await the winner of either #4 Crofton or #5 Wakefield at 5:30 p.m. in Wayne on Monday, June 30.

Wakefield Post 81 Seniors are listed as the #4 seed and will face #5 Ponca in Wayne at 4:30 p.m. on June 29. The winner will face the winner of either Wayne or Plainview on July 1.

Wakefield Post 81 Juniors are listed as the #5 seed, and will travel to #4 Crofton on June 28 at 11 a.m. The winner will face Wayne at Hank Overin Field in Wayne on June 30 at 5:30 p.m.

The 2025 Ralph Bishop League finals will be played in Wayne on Saturday, July 5 starting with the Juniors third place game at 11 a.m., Seniors third place game at 1:30 p.m., Juniors finals at 4 p.m. and Seniors finals at 6:30 p.m.
