Volleyball takes care of Minot State with road sweep

Tarrin Beller and Kelsie Cada each produced 12 kills to power 13th ranked Wayne State College in a 25-16, 25-12, 25-14 victory over Minot State Friday at the Minot Dome in Minot, N.D.

Wayne State never trailed in the opening set, taking an early 11-4 advantage before cruising to the easy win. Beller had four kills to pace Wayne State in the opening set.

The second set saw the Wildcats continue their strong play, forcing seven Beaver attack errors in the set. Cada had the hot hand for Wayne State in the second set with seven kills on 13 attempts along with two service aces.

Beller was the go-to player for the Wildcats in the third set, producing seven kills on just 11 attacks, while Wayne State connected on 16 kills to complete the sweep.

Beller and Cada each had 12 kills to lead Wayne State. Beller hit .500 in the match with no attack errors. Jaci Brahmer and Rachel Walker each had four blocks for the Wildcats while Hope Carter accounted for 15 digs with Haley Kauth adding 10. Walker also had 31 set assists.

The Wildcats (21-5, 12-5 NSIC) have a morning matchup on Saturday, facing University of Mary in an 11 a.m. contest in Bismarck, N.D.
