Volleyball team 9-0 with triangular wins

The Wayne High volleyball team won two matches at North Bend on Saturday to improve to 9-0 on the season.

The Blue Devils opened with a three-set win over North Bend, winning 25-11, 23-25, 25-20.

Lauren Pick led the attack with 21 kills, with Emily Armstrong adding eight and Mikaela McManigal and Rubie Klausen earning seven apiece. Kiara Krusemark had 40 assists. Sydney Redden led the defense with 20 digs, Pick had 13 and Armstrong and Hailey Backer each had 10.

In their second match, Wayne swept Aquinas 25-23, 25-18.

Pick had 14 kills and Armstrong added six for the winners. Krusemark had 24 assists and Erin O’Reilly had three ace serves. On defense, Armstrong had 12 digs, Pick had 11, Backer had nine, Krusemark had seven and Redden had five.

Wayne is back in action next week with road games Tuesday at Guardian Angels Central Catholic and Thursday at Lutheran High Northeast.
