Northeast Nebraska competition will take over the Class C2-5 boys subdistrict basketball tournament where Wakefield has earned the #4 seed.
From Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington, a pair of play-in games will take place on Monday, Feb. 24.
#4 Wakefield (11-9) will open against #5 Crofton (3-18) followed by #3 Ponca (14-8) vs. #6 Stanton (3-18) next Monday with game times not posted as of late Tuesday night.
The Wakefield/Crofton winner will get #1 Cedar Catholic (17-6) while the Ponca/Stanton winner will face #2 West Holt (18-4) both next Tuesday.
The Wakefield boys will end their regular season this Friday at Homer. Earlie this season, Wakefield won 44-41 at Crofton on Jan. 28.
