Wakefield collects two medalists, Winside boys a runner-up medal from Summerland wrestling invite

With the girls in Winside, the Winside and Wakefield boys wrestlers traveled for a Saturday invite.

From Summerland High School in Ewing, 14  teams made up the Summerland Boys Bobcat Invite.

The Wakefield boys sent six wrestlers to place ninth with 47 points while the Winside boys showcased five wrestlers to finish 13th with 31 points.

Pender won the Summerland Bobcat Invite with 120.5 points, Guardian Angels Central Catholic followed in runner-up (119), the host Summerland took third (94), Ravenna placed fourth (90.5) and Howells-Dodge rounded out the top five teams with 70.5 points.

Wakefield was led by Lane Fischer (132) in third as Ruben Vega (157) followed in fourth.

Other scoring came from Landon Ryion (138) as well as Domingo Centino (150) while Baldwin Garcia (113) and Pedro Gonzalez (138) were also in action.

Winside was led by Korbin Carlson (150) in runner-up while other scoring came from Mason Edwards (138), Stratton Sellin (144) and Asher Uttecht (157). Aden Mielke (175) was also in action.

The Winside boys will be off until the Weeping Water Invite on Friday, January 17 while the Wakefield boys will travel to Ponca for a triangular along with Madison on Thursday.
