Conference tournament volleyball play began Thursday evening for one area league.
From Humphrey, #11 Wakefield took part in their first East Husker Conference Tournament.
Wakefield suffered a 2-0 loss against #6 Howells-Dodge to fall to 10-16 on the season. The Jaguars advanced to the winner’s bracket match where they were later swept by #3 Humphrey-Lindsay Thursday evening now with a 15-10 record.
Scores of the match favored Howells-Dodge 25-16, 31-29.
Senior Alli Brown recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs sophomore Boston Brown posted 19 assists and five digs as junior Gracyn Keagle led Wakefield in digs with 12 along with five kills and one block.
Junior Sierra Kaufman added three kills as senior Isabella Andrade (five digs) and freshman Rihanna Rivera (one dig/one block) both tallied two kills. Other digs came from junior Ashlyn Riewer (nine).
Alli Brown finished with two service aces as Keagle and Riewer both had an ace.
