On back-to-back nights, the Wakefield girls and boys basketball teams were on the road to begin East Husker Conference Tournament action.
On Friday in West Point, #13 Wakefield girls suffered a 72-38 loss at #4 West Point-Beemer before moving into Saturday from Humphrey where #8 Wakefield boys dropped a 61-60 decision to #9 Tekamah-Herman.
In the girls game, Wakefield fell to 3-16 dropping their fourth straight while West Point-Beemer improved to 15-4 winning their fifth straight.
The top scorers for the Trojans were sophomore Boston Brown with 12 points as fellow sophomore Montse Avila added 10 points.
During the boys outing, Wakefield fell to 10-8 and had their seven game winning streak snapped as Tekamah-Herman improved to 9-9 snapping a four-game losing streak.
Wakefield leaders were junior Cael Johnson with 25 points as junior Jacob Borg added 15 points.
