Wakefield girls win at Lyons-Decatur Invite

LYONS – The Wakefield girls came away with the team title at Tuesday's Lyons-Decatur Invitational.
The Trojan girls showed good balance while scoring in 11 events, including three wins. Savannah Nelson won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:04.40, Jamie Dolph took the 3,200 in 13:11.20, and Josephine Peitz claimed first in the 800 with an effort of 2:38.40.
On the boys side, Dylan Hurlbert scored in four events, including a second in the 110-meter high hurdles and tying for second in the high jump. Daniel Nuno medaled in two individual events with an eighth in the 100 and a sixth in the 400.
