A sixth opponent on the Wakefield football schedule with an above-.500 record stood in front of the host Trojans with one week remaining in the eight-man regular season.
From Wakefield, the host Trojans suffered a 62-12 loss against Pender.
Wakefield (0-7) has now dropped 24 straight while Pender (6-1) picked up their sixth straight win.
Pender put up 21 points in the opening quarter followed by a 27-6 advantage in the second to lead 48-6 at the break.
The Pendragons outscored Wakefield, 7-6 in the third and produced the lone fourth quarter points (seven).
Head Wakefield football coach Joe Kvidera said, "Pender is a very good football team and we knew playing them would take a herculean effort. Although we played well on defense at times we gave up too many big plays. Offensively, we just never got on track against a very good defense. We have one more week to regroup and put up our best effort to end the season on a positive note."
Scoring came from senior Brandon Parades on a 79-yard kickoff return in the first half as well as a 17-yard rushing touchdown by senior Jacob Borg late in the third quarter for the Trojans.
Borg finished 6-11 for 58 yards and added 39 yards on 15 rushes with one score.
Other rushing stats came from junior Carter Kratke (13 yards) and senior Mason Lamprecht (11 yards) both on three carries.
Lamprecht led the receiving core with three receptions for 41 yards as senior Lane Fischer added two catches for 29 yards.
Senior Ruben Vega posted a team-high 10 tackles with four TFLs followed by Lamprecht and Fischer both with seven tackles.
Other top defenders were Kratke with six tackles and senior Quintin Beaty with five tackles and one pass defended.
Wakefield will look to end their 24-game losing skid during their final game of 2025 hosting Homer (1-6) on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
