Injuries are starting to pile up for the Wakefield football team following a week two home loss.
From the Wakefield Stadium, Wakefield welcomed Hartington-Newcastle on Sept. 6 during a Class D1 eight-man showdown.
Hartington-Newcastle secured the 74-6 victory to improve to 2-0 while the Trojans fell to 0-2.

Head Wakefield football coach Mike Hassler said, "we are down six starters after two games."
Wakefield was led by Matthew Metzler completing 9 of 17 passes for 68 yards with three interceptions.
Timothy Kaufman recorded three catches for 22 yards, Mason Lamprecht added a 31-yard reception, Jesse Lundahl had one reception for five yards as Benny Palma caught two passes for nine yards.
On the ground, Palma recorded a rushing touchdown totaling 66 yards on two carries. Carter Kratke added seven rushes for 29 yards as Lamprecht had four carries for 15 yards.
