Wakefield takes fourth with three medalists; Natalee Nelson wins 190 at Winside invite

Several northeast Nebraska girls wrestling teams took over the Winside gymnasium on Saturday.

Both Winside and Wakefield were in action among the Winside Girls Invite over the weekend which attracted 23 teams.

The Wakefield girls sent 10 wrestlers to place fourth with 78 points while the host Winside girls showcased two wrestlers to finish 23rd with two points.

Lakeview won the Winside Girls Invite with 172 points, Pierce followed in runner-up (144), Winnebago took third (89), Wakefield placed fourth (78) and Ainsworth rounded out the top five teams with 77.5 points.

Wakefield was led by a first place finish from Natalee Nelson (190), Naomi Nelson (135) followed in runner-up as Jazmynn Scott (155) took fourth.

Other scoring came from Jennifer Lopez (110), Katelyn Walsh (115), Maria Perez (120) and Tiffany Chase (170).

Erica Chicaj Pol (115),  Mirella Ruvalcaba (120) and Kira Centurion (120) were also in action.

Winside scoring came from Raylyn Behmer (115) while Lilly Umbarger (145) was also in action.
