Ward D. Barelman, 71, of Wayne, died Thursday December 4, 2025, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Barelman family for later designation.
Ward Douglas Barelman was born Jan. 25, 1954 in Wakefield to Eldon Henry and Janice Marie (Lund) Barelman. His youth was spent in the communities of Wakefield, Allen, and later St. Paul, where he graduated from High School. He received his Masters of Business Administration from Wayne State College. After graduating from college, Ward lived in Wayne and then Wakefield. Later, he lived on a farm southeast of Wayne. He worked as a computer programmer for Waldbaums in Wakefield, and as an IT director for Prince Hydraulics in Sioux City, and Blue Ox in Pender.
Survivors include his three children, daughter, Bethany Barelman of Omaha; sons, Ben (Morgan) Barelman of Laurel and Billy Barelman of Cedar Bluffs; brother-in-law, John Klosterman of Arlington; aunt, Angie Blattert of Wakefield; nephews, nieces and cousins.
Preceding Ward in death were his parents; siblings, Jerry, Kathy, Rick, Alan and Jean; nephew, Tom Klosterman and uncles and aunts.
