The Wayne High girls basketball team handled Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 52-33 Thursday to win the C1-5 subdistrict title and earn a spot in the Sweet 16 of Class C-1 next week.
The Blue Devils used a solid second half to beat the Raiders and move on to the district finals, outscoring LVSS 24-10 in the final two periods.
Two other area schools were in subdistrict finals and came up short Thursday. Wakeifeld fell to Pender in the C2-4 subdistrict final at Pender, 64-23, while Tri County Northeast fell to host Bancroft-Rosalie in the D1-3 final, 67-30.
Wayne’s opponent and game location will be announced at a later time. Winners of the district championship games advance to the state tournament in Lincoln, set for March 1-4.
