Wayne assisted living aide faces felony charge

Teri Fettig, a 39-year-old employee at Kinship Pointe in Wayne is facing multiple charges after allegedly making personal purchases on a resident's credit card. 

In late February 2023, the power of attorney for the 69-year-old resident reported Fettig to the Wayne Police Department after discovering multiple charges on the resident's credit card statements, according to an arrest affidavit. 

The Wayne PD obtained surveillance video of Fettig allegedly using the card at Casey's in Wayne five times throughout the month of February. According to the Wayne PD, those amounts totaled $189.62. 

Fettig also allegedly used the card to make eight purchases totalling between $750 and $1,000 at Wayne's Dollar General and purchases of alcohol at Wayne's 4th Jug. 

On Feb. 21, Fettig admitted to using the resident's credit card to make purchases for the resident and bringing them to the facility. 

According to the affidavit, Fettig has also allegedly been mentioned as a suspect in previous unaccounted for money from coworkers at a different facility. 

Fettig was charged with a Class 3A Felony of Abuse of Vulnerable Adult, Class 1 Misdemeanor of Unauthorized Use of a Financial Transaction Device and a Class 3 Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Financial Transaction Device. 

Her bail was set at $10,000.

Her pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Friday, April 14.
