From special recognition for Wayne High student-athletes to scholarship awards and more, three individuals and two teams were inducted into the Hall of Fame on May 7.
Brandon Hall, booster club president welcomed family and friends along with students during the Blue Devil Athletic Awards night.
Victoria Kniesche, Jalen Barry, Grant Anderson as well as the 1998 Wayne High girls golf team and 1999 Wayne High boys golf team were honored.
Most Outstanding and Valuable Player awards went to Gavin Redden (boys cross country/baseball); Colson Nelsen (boys basketball/boys golf); Naomi Kantai (girls cross country) Kaden Keller (football offense), Calvin Ankeny (football defense); Joslyn Johnson (girls golf); Samantha Gubbels (softball); Mallory Redden (volleyball); Haley Kramer (girls basketball); Grant Maas (boys wrestling); Nyla Bolles (girls wrestling); Aiden Petersen (boys bowling) and Lindsay Niemann (girls bowling). The girls and boys track & field MVPs will be announced after districts.
Several other special awards were presented. Recognition went to Nyla Bolles and Gavin Redden (Distinguished Athlete award); Alexis Legler (Terry Johnson award); Rylin Hall and Gavin Redden (Rocky Ruhl Athletic Scholarship); Rylin Hall and Gavin Redden (Moller Memorial award); Jaden Dramsen and Jamison Meyer (Brian "Dink" Denklau Memorial Bowling Scholarship); Nyla Bolles and Gavin Redden (Sportsmanship award); Lilyan Hurner and Kasen York (Stan Stednitz Memorial Cross Country award); Alexa Chavez Medina and Zander Liston (Larry Gamble Memorial Award); Rylin Hall and Kaden Keller (Runza/KTCH/KCTY Scholarship) as well as Rylin Hall and Gavin Redden (Harold Maciejewski Master Sports Award and Booster Scholarship).
