Wayne Blue Broncos and Didgets secure home wins

Two Wayne Blue youth baseball teams took over May 28 on their home diamond.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the Wayne Blue Broncos (12u) and Didgets (10u) entertained Pierce Blue.

The Wayne Blue Broncos picked up an 8-1 win to improve to 3-1 while the Wayne Blue Didgets also won 6-4 to now sit 3-1 on the season.

In the Broncos outing, Wayne Blue scored one run in the first inning followed by a seven-run second inning. After three scoreless innings, Pierce Blue produced their lone run in the top of the sixth.

Final favored the Wayne Blue Broncos winning 8-1 and outhitting Pierce Blue, 9-3. Wayne Blue committed two errors compared to four errors by their opponent.

Harley Poland doubled, drove in two runs and scored; Ayser Titiml singled twice, drove in two runs and scored as Mason Rhods singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice.

Dexter McIntosh singled, drove in a run and scored; Julian Contreras and Trey Wardlow both singled and scored; Brody Virgil singled and drove in a run as Hudson Kramer scored.

Kramer (70 pitches) started the opening four innings allowing three hits while striking out nine batters and hitting one. Contreras (46) closed out the final two innings allowing an earned run while striking out five batters and walking three.

During the Didgets contest, Wayne Blue won 6-4 over Pierce Blue.

The winning pitcher was Lincoln Masters who worked four innings allowing two earned runs while striking out 11 batters. Ryan Magnuson recorded the save in the final inning striking out three batters.

Casey Shultheis singled and tripled twice as Magnuson went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Crispin Ptacek also single twice, drove in a run and scored.
