After having games postponed from May 19 to May 22, the Wayne Blue Broncos and Didgets were in action for their regularly scheduled outing on Wednesday, May 21 at different locations.
From Lyons, the Wayne Blue Broncos won 18-9 while the Wayne Blue Didgets picked up a 9-1 home victory over the West Point Dodgers. Both teams improved to 1-1 on the season.
In the Broncos road outing, Ayser Titiml singled three times and drove in four runs; Cohen Woehler singled twice and scored three times while Dexter McIntosh singled, drove in four runs and scored twice.
Trey Wardlow singled, drove in a run and scored three times; Julian Contreras accounted for two RBI; Mason Rhods added a RBI and three runs scored; Hudson Kramer tallied a RBI and two runs scored; Bradley Hanson scored three runs as both Heath and Harley Poland crossed the place once.
Bradley Hanson (18 pitches) picked up the win in an inning and a third of relief striking out four batters. Titiml (20) started the opening two-thirds allowing two earned runs off two hits while striking out and walking one batter each. Woehler (60) worked two and a third allowing seven runs (three earned) off three hits while striking out five batters, walking one and hitting four. Kramer (17) closed out the final two-thirds striking out two batters and walking one.
During the Didgets home game, Ryan Magnuson was the winning pitcher in three innings. He recorded eight strikeouts and also went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a RBI at the plate. Lincoln Masters worked two innings pitched with five strikeouts while adding a RBI single. Other leaders were Emmett Johnson with a two run double and Graham Sharpe a two run single.
