Wayne Blue Broncos, Didgets showcase top pitching during season opening victory

It was the start of a new season with summer sports taking over late spring action.

From the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne, the Blue Broncos picked up a 13-0 victory along with the Blue Didgets winning 3-1 against Battle Creek #2. Both teams began their season at 1-0.

In the Bronco outing, Ayser Titiml singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice while Harley Poland singled twice, drove in two runs and scored for Wayne Blue.

Julian Contreras and Cohen Woehler both singled, drove in a run and scored; Heath Poland singled and drove in a run; Hudson Kramer singled and scored twice; Trey Wardlow singled and scored; Brody Virgil accounted for two RBI and a run scored; Mason Rhods scored twice as single runs came from Bradley Hanson and Dexter McIntosh.

Kramer (55 pitches) picked up the complete game shutout victory in five innings allowing two hits while striking out nine batters.

During the Didget competition, Wayne Blue leasders were Emmett Johnson with a two-RBI triple and Graham Sharpe added a double and run scored.

Ryan Magnuson was the winning pitcher in five innings allowing one hit while striking out 15 batters. Johnson earned the save in the final inning striking out three batters.
