Wayne Blue competes in Tri County League; Wayne White Named Blue Division Champion

WISNER – One final youth baseball team from Wayne will look to bring back a league championship following early July rain delays and the Independence Day weekend.

Four remaining teams in the Bronco Gold Division (Upper 14) set their final games for Monday, July 8 in Wisner.

#2 Wayne Blue (13-0) opened  Monday night against #4 West Point Dodgers (11-2) at 6 p.m. in the championship game followed by #1 Tri County – Emerson (12-1) vs. #3 Pierce Blue (10-3) around 8 p.m.

#2 Wayne Blue opened the Tri County League Tournament with a 9-5 win over #10 Battle Creek #1 on June 29 before winning 7-1 against #3 Pierce Blue on July 3.

For the Bronco Blue Division (Lower 11), #4 Wayne White won the championship game by forfeit over #6 Logan View Gold (unable to field complete team). Wayne White (7-8) recorded wins of 12-5 over #5 Howells/Dodge on June 29 and won 15-2 against #1 Schuyler on July 3 in the semifinal round.

#3 Wayne White Ponies (14-3) ended their season with a 4-2 win over #6 Pender to finish third place on July 3  in the Tri County League Tournament.

During the quarterfinal round on June 28, #3 Wayne Blue (11-5) ended their season with a 10-9 loss in eight innings against #6 Pender.

In the Blue Didget Division (Lower 14), #6 Wayne White (5-8) ended their season with an 8-3 loss against #3 Wisner on June 28 while #2 Wayne Blue (6-7) was eliminated in the semifinal round on June 30 by the score of 12-5 against Wisner.
