Wayne Blue splits at West Point Patriots, Wayne White Didgets falls at North Bend Black; White Broncos game postponed

Three of the youth baseball teams from Wayne took to the diamond Monday night in Tri County League play.

From West Point, the Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos visited the West Point Patriots while the Wayne White Didgets battled North Bend Black on the road. The Wayne White Broncos (2-6) at North Bend Black game has been postponed to a later date.

In West Point, the Wayne Blue Broncos (9-0) thanks to a 21-4 victory while the Blue Didgets (5-4) suffered a 9-0 loss at the West Point Patriots.

During the Broncos outing, Wayne Blue led 2-0 after the first inning before using a 12-2 advantage in the second inning and 6-1 advantage in the third to lead 20-3. Both teams scored a run in the fourth. Final favored the Wayne Blue Broncos winning 21-4 and outhitting the West Point Patriots, 12-4.

Kian Pick singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Mason Rhods doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice; Forrest Gearhart singled twice, drove in four runs and scored; Mason Wendte singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice as Sy Chase singled twice, drove in a run and scored four times.

Blake Heithold singled, drove in a run and scored three times; Gage Gimmel singled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Ryan Loberg singled and scored; Braden McManigal accounted for a RBI and two runs scored as Brayden Stegemann scored twice.

Kimmel (52 pitches) picked up the win in three innings allowing three runs (one earned) off three hits while striking out six batters. McManigal (17) worked a third of an inning allowing an earned run off one hit while walking two batters and hitting one. Wendte (four) closed out the final two-thirds striking out one batter.

From the Didgets game, Wayne managed two hits while leaving six runners stranded on base.

In North Bend, the Wayne White Didgets (4-5) suffered a 14-7 loss on the road.

North Bend Black began with a 4-3 lead after the first inning followed by a four-run second and a 3-1 advantage in the third to lead 11-4. North Bend Black added three more runs in the fourth with Wayne White scoring three runs in the fifth. Final favored North Bend Black winning 14-7 and outhitting the Wayne White Didgets, 7-6.

Aiden Kesting doubled and scored; Case Ruwe singled twice and drove in two runs while Dexter McIntosh singled twice, drove in a run and scored.

Lincoln Nelson singled and drove in a run; Aden Greve and Adrian Zarate both accounted for a RBI and run scored; Weston Nelson scored twice as Heath Poland scored.

Kesting (76 pitches) suffered the loss in an inning and two-thirds allowing 10 earned runs off three hits while striking out three batters and walking 11. Weston Nelson (42) worked an inning and a third allowing four runs (three earned) off four hits while striking out two batters and walking four.
