In their final tune-up before districts, the Wayne boys took first and the girls were second in the Battle Creek Invitational.
Schools were allowed to use as many entries as they wished, but only the top three scored for each school in that event.
The Wayne boys won seven events on the day. Winners included Christian Rogers (100, 200), Mason Lee (long jump, triple jump), Tyrus Eischeid (1,600), Jack Evetovich (high jump) and the 1,600-meter relay of Aaron Reynolds, Nolan Reynolds, RJ Liska and Tyler Pecena.
The girls also claimed seven firsts on the day. Gabi Meyer won the 800, Andrea Torres took the 3,200, Sidney Biggerstaff won the 100-meter hurdles, Shania Anderson won the high jump, Maysn Dorey took the pole vault, Jenna Trenhaile won the shot put, and the 3,200-meter relay of Meyer, Kiara Hochstein, Frankie Klausen and Allison Echtenkamp took first.
Wayne will host the B-4 district meet next Thursday at Kern Stadium.
